Garden Transformation:
Hardscaping, Landscaping & Outdoor Living

A full garden overhaul—new paving throughout, a garden studio, proper landscaping, and spaces designed to actually be used rather than just looked at.

What We Did

Started with hardscaping. New external stairs with proper handrails and decent tread depths so you’re not stumbling. Paving laid throughout the garden with correct falls for drainage—nothing pools after rain, nothing settles unevenly after a season. The patterns look intentional, not like slabs just thrown down.

Added a garden studio—proper weatherproofed structure with glazing and ventilation. It’s not a storage shed pretending to be an office. The space around it got attention too: a patio that’s actually usable, not cramped or poorly positioned.

Landscaping came next. Planting beds with decent soil preparation, a pergola that frames the space properly, seating areas positioned so they face the garden rather than backing onto walls. Borders were cleared and replanted with plants that will actually grow rather than struggle. The whole thing was planned so it looks like it was thought through, not assembled randomly.

Why This Matters

Gardens get ignored when they don’t work. Bad paving means puddles and uneven ground. No seating means nowhere to sit. Planting dies because nobody prepared the soil properly. A good garden is actually used.

When the hardscaping is right, the drainage works. When the landscaping is done properly, plants survive. When spaces are designed, people spend time in them.

The Details

Paving needs proper foundations and slopes. We didn’t just lay stone on soil and hope. Borders got soil improvement before planting went in. Seating was positioned to catch light and face views. The pergola provides shade without blocking everything out.

Materials were chosen to last and weather properly. Plants selected for the space and soil, not just because they looked nice at the garden centre.

The Result

An outdoor space that actually functions. You can move around without tripping, water doesn’t collect, plants grow, and there are places designed for sitting. It’s not just a garden—it’s somewhere people will actually spend time.
